The temperatures are warming up more and more these days, which has me swapping my sweaters for lighter fabrics, bare arms, and my favorite cut-off shorts! This sort of feels like a fresh start, a new season, and with that and some new faces around here and my social channels, Instagram specifically (@brandisoileau), I thought it would be a good idea to share 10 things about me that will help you get to know me better. Soooo here we go!
- I have 4 siblings and our birthdays are in October, November, December, January, and February, and all but one of us have birthdays in the first 5 days of the month, and our birthdays all fall on the same day of the week every year, my Mom included. Creepy, right? Totally unplanned, and a complete coincidence.
2. I know the words from beginning to end (not just the catchy choruses) to more rap songs than you would think. Rap was totally a thing and “in” when I was growing up, and we all loved to dance at a young age.
3. I met my boyfriend of over 6 years now while walking on a treadmill while watching Ellen. This was my routine everyday for a while, and little did I know at the time it was also his routine to walk by the window so often! haha.
4. I once took a job in a state that I’d never even been to before. This was 8 years ago and I am still working in the same industry, doing the same work, today.
5. The older I’ve gotten the more of a homebody I’ve become. The idea of being an extrovert and going out to events sounds good when I make plans but every time it gets close I want to change my mind.
6. I decided to go skydiving completely on a whim on a random day of the week. I got a text message from a friend while driving home from work early and chose to do it. I had to chug a beer beforehand, but it ended up being the best thing I’ve ever done!
7. I lived in Colorado for 2-3 years and did everything outdoors you can imagine-except fly fishing. My favorite was all the horseback riding trails I got to see, and all the bears and bobcats tracks. Scary.
8. I eat 2 scrambled eggs with cheese every single morning and fresh roasted vegetables every night, for about 2 years now and never get sick of them. Sprinkle a little ranch seasoning and garlic powder on the veggies…mmm!
9. I majored in Fashion Merchandising in college and had big dreams of becoming a buyer in NYC. My first job in retail was as a Visual Merchandiser at a big Forever 21 store and needless to say I hated it and didn’t stay long. I work in oil and gas now full-time.
10. I used to wear only bright colors and loud prints in my 20s, and since turning 30 my eyes gravitate towards neutrals and solids, which is what you’ll mostly see on my blog. And in my opinion stripes are a neutral!
