I must have been late to the #NSale shipment train because it sure felt that all of my items came weeks after most others’. Nevertheless, now that the initial mad dash of it all has passed and we are now to the final stretch (7 days left-prices go back up on Aug. 7) I am showing you what I have kept, after trying it all on + styling it. And yes, I’m fully aware that none of us are really thinking about sweaters and boots and coats, but if you’ve noticed my talk about this sale then you’ve grasped that it’s a great time to buy NEW items to wear in just a couple of months, and maybe sooner if you’re traveling somewhere that actually has or gets a fall season, unlike me here in the south. If you do, I’m super jealous! 😉 Also, a lot of these items can in fact be worn now, and transition great into the fall! Cue these shoes and jeans, and pair this sweater with shorts in the movie theater. That’s how you do that.
First up is this oh so comfy and slouchy lattice back sweater, with adorable bell sleeves. It is still a hot ticket item, and continually comes in and out of stock. It’s also sold in a pretty golden color, and I have found similar styles here, here, and here. Wear it now with a pair of shorts when you’re spending a day inside when the A/C is blasting on full capacity. The easiest thing to do + a little tip of advice: Keep a browser window open on your screen and every so often hit “refresh” to check for a re-stock. I have gotten several items this way.
I always, always use the #NordstromAnniversarySale to scoop up a good pair of jeans or two. This go ’round I was on the lookout for a high-waisted pair, with a raw/short hem. I like my denim pretty short these days, because I wear a lot of ankle strap shoes and it just works better when the hem doesn’t interfere and you don’t have to worry about cuffing or taking your jeans in to a tailor. Speaking of, did you see my instastories over the weekend? I showed a way to make these even shorter, if you’ve got borderline short/long legs like me. Because these jeans are the perfect weight, they are virtually seamless and so you can roll the hem under once and it goes unnoticed. No lines, bulkiness, etc. Just perfect! I can’t speak highly enough about this pair and I know I will get tons of wear out of them.
I am also obsessed with these shoeties. They are a great mix of a shoe/sandal and a bootie, and can definitely be worn now and later in the fall. I’ve already worn these a handful of times in the week that I’ve had them. I mean, the V-front cut-out detail and the thick strap around the ankle scream sass and all things adorable. I can’t wait to pair these with skirts and a dress too!
Another smart move during the #NSale is to scout out new purses and bags. I have been a Tory Burch fan for quite a while and was looking for a new satchel to replace an older one. I’ll let you in on a little style secret–blush is going to be HUGE for the fall, so now is the time to stock up on this bag or any of the other styles (my other fave!!) in the same color. It also comes in a pretty taupey gray shade. Also, how beautiful is this one?? All the heart eyes for it.
