This post’s title sort of rhymes, unintentionally, though, don’t you think? Or maybe it sounds like sort of a little jingle.
Anywho, as I’ve gotten older (hit over the age of 30) I find that I like a little more conservancy in my clothing, while still staying cute, appropriate for the weather, etc. And lately that means a midi length dress over a mini or shorter hem. They allow me to walk in a heel better, more confidently, without worrying if any lady bits get exposed. But, S-E-C-R-E-T…this isn’t a bridesmaid dress, it’s actually found in the pajamas section, but the quality looks and feels just like a perfect summer dress! News is out, and I’m in love with it. {Size down one-I’m in an XS}
A few months back I came across my first slip bandage dress from a brand called Splendid. Some of you may be familiar with them.
While I normally like to impulse buy, the angel on my left shoulder typically snaps me back to reality and reminds me of a few things: A) This is a trend, this is not a closet staple that I will probably not reach for, for the next 5 years. B) See if you can do some searching and find a less expensive version. and C) See what other colors are out there. So I took her (my) advice and did just that, which brings me to this slip dress, that comes in right under $20, and comes in 6 colors! That price is so good that I scooped up two additional colors. I’ve worn ALL of them at least twice, and don’t plan to stop until October, because around here the summer truly is year-long. But it will also transition well into fall and winter, with a pair of booties and a leather jacket. Already can’t wait to wear it that way!
You can also throw on a denim jacket, or like I did, a green cargo vest, and pair it up with your favorite neutral accessories.
